The Lodge of Construction has a link with Lodge La Charité No 6 , which meets in Amsterdam. Brethren from our Lodge visit once a year and Brethren from Lodge La Charité visit us, usually at our Installation meeting in September.

When it is possible, we try to make it a long weekend in June, with our Ladies, so that we can all enjoy the culture and experience of this fabulous city.

Lodge La Charité No 6, was 250 years old in 2005. The Lodge was consecrated as an English lodge, before becoming part of The Grand East of The Netherlands. To celebrate this event one of the treats was an enactment of the consecration of a new lodge. . Like all Freemasons, our Friends and Brethren in Holland take their Freemasonry seriously, and also like to enjoy themselves too.

On Saturday 5th June, a group of English Masons visited Amsterdam to demonstrate Emulation Ritual.

For the past six years, Lodge of Construction No. 5350 has had close links with Lodge La Charité  No. 6 from Amsterdam, with annual visits to each other’s Lodge. This year, with approval from UGLE, W.Bro. David Banks, Preceptor, organized the visit to demonstrate the First Degree Ceremony by a group of Staffordshire and Warwickshire Masons, with a Dutch Brother acting as Candidate.

The event was based around a Lodge of Instruction Festival, so as to enable each Dutch Brother to receive a Summons, see the Opening and Closing of a Lodge as well as the Initiation Ceremony. The President for the evening was W.Bro. Honoré Verbeet, a Past Master of Lodge La Charité.

After the meeting an English Festive Board was held where, contrary to Dutch Masonry, the Ladies were invited to join. With the Ladies being present, the Entered Apprentice Song and Masonic Chain were demonstrated in the Temple after the Lodge had been closed.

After a convivial evening, the whole event was hailed as a resounding success both by the Brethren and the Ladies.
